While a lot of the popular club rap either borders on drill or is extremely goofy, Staten Island’s Wolfacejoeyy has found a version that doesn’t occupy either of those lanes. So it makes some sense that on “Weekend” he teamed up with Cash Cobain and Chow Lee, who, despite being way less in their feelings, have similarly stumbled into their own groove. The beat, produced by a squad including WhereIs22 (still not over Tariq from Power casually making pretty good beats), has the dreamy feel that Wolfacejoeyy usually goes for. But as for the lyrics, the New York duo rub off on him—it’s straight-up horny bar after horny bar. He doesn’t quite get as deep into the weeds as either of them—Cash’s verse is basically pornographic—but it’s fun hearing him try.
