On the follow-up to her viral breakout “Munch,” the Bronx rapper dishes out stream-of-consciousness queries over a twiddling, silly beat.

“You thought I was feeling you?,” Ice Spice scoffed on her disrespectful breakthrough single “Munch (Feelin’ U),” wondering how a man could possibly be so dense as to believe she cared about him. Co-signed by Drake, partially remixed by Cardi B, and lauded as a summer anthem, the Bronx rapper’s viral hit added a fun new character to the corny dude pack: the munch, a man whose sole purpose is to give a woman head. And while her incredulous opening question would typically be accompanied by narrowed eyes, furrowed brows, and a scrunched face, Ice Spice sounded like she couldn’t be bothered to dispense energy. Her nonchalant delivery, which makes it seem as if she’s rapping mid-yawn, helped her stand out in an intense and gritty drill scene.

“Munch”’s follow-up, the Spongebob Squarepants-referencing “Bikini Bottom,” beats back speculations of the rapper being a one-verse wonder. Over a booming bass and twiddling, pied piper-ass strings, she dishes out stream-of-consciousness queries (“how can I lose if I’m already chose?”) and flexes about her own hotness (“I get a bitch tight every time that I post.”) Her lines are tongue twisters, raced through with barely a breath in between, and her tendency to punctuate verses with “like…” adds extra hilarity. Although she loses some of her personality in the final verse, “Bikini Bottom” is whimsical and fun, proving it pays not to take yourself so seriously.
